Rodeo FX is hiring a Junior VFX Talent Acquisition Specialist for a 6-month contract based in Montreal. About the Role

You’ll be embedded in the TA team at one of Montreal’s most established VFX studios, running full-cycle recruitment mandates across creative and technical roles that feed directly into active production. A typical day involves intake meetings with department heads, sourcing outreach to passive candidates across VFX and animation communities, and keeping SmartRecruiters up to date so any team member can pick up a file without losing context. The volume is real and the mandates run concurrently, so your organizational discipline matters as much as your judgment.

Key Responsibilities

• Run full recruitment cycles from intake through offer and signature, covering VFX and animation roles across multiple concurrent mandates.
• Lead structured intake meetings with department heads to calibrate seniority expectations, confirm production constraints, and define a clear interview process before sourcing begins.
• Build and maintain talent communities by discipline, using direct outreach, specialized networks, academic partnerships, and referrals aligned to immediate production needs.
• Conduct structured pre-screening interviews, document key signals both positive and at-risk, and produce evaluations that are immediately usable by hiring managers.
• Write and distribute job postings in French and English that accurately represent the role and reflect Rodeo FX’s studio culture without overpromising.
• Deliver candidate experience that holds up at every stage, including clear, timely communication on rejections, because every touchpoint reflects the studio’s reputation in the VFX industry.

What You Bring

• At least 1 to 2 years of recruitment experience, ideally within a VFX studio, animation production house, or post-production environment.
• Familiarity with SmartRecruiters or a comparable ATS, and the discipline to keep records clean enough for team handoffs.
• Working knowledge of VFX pipeline roles well enough to assess a reel or a resume without needing a department head to explain the difference.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English, written and spoken, required for sourcing and posting in both markets.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple open mandates simultaneously without losing cadence on any of them.
