Producer/Screenwriter

We are a Toronto production company who produces award-winning television. We are seeking to expand our successful team for the new 13-episode season of our established scripted comedy TV series.

The series is unique in that it combines pre-shot footage with scripted content. While writing is a part of a show, the editing room is where the show is made. It requires creative screenwriters/story editors who understand how to shape footage and work with an editor to make the story sing.

Must Be:

  • Non-Union
  • Ontario resident
  • Canadian citizen

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Arc a story and pace a 30 min comedy
  • Writing scripts, dialogue, voiceover, treatments
  • Review and break down footage
  • Make written edit decision lists and write paper edits
  • Dissect and package both reality/documentary style and scripted footage
  • Work with an editor from raw cut to broadcast-ready

Assets:

  • Comedy/improv background
  • Experience writing for scripted television
  • Prior experience working in a writers room
  • Strong interest for the entertainment industry
