Job Type
Disney is hiring a Publicity Coordinator for Disney Entertainment Television, based in Burbank, CA. This role sits inside the television publicity department, supporting press campaigns across the full DET programming slate, including series, specials, documentaries, and movies. It is a strong fit for someone early in their entertainment publicity career who wants hands-on exposure to episodic television campaigns at a major studio.
About the Role
The Publicity Coordinator works directly alongside publicists and communications executives to keep campaigns organized and moving across Disney Entertainment Television’s portfolio. Day-to-day work spans drafting press materials, coordinating talent logistics, tracking media coverage, and supporting events like press junkets, screenings, and award shows. This is a coordinator-level position, meaning you are in the room where decisions happen, even if you are not yet making them.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and compile press coverage, social media activity, and publicity results across episodic television titles for internal reporting and campaign tracking.
- Draft and distribute press materials including press releases, talent biographies, pitch copy, loglines, and confirmation memos for series and special programming launches.
- Coordinate talent-related logistics, including travel arrangements, interview schedules, and itineraries for press tours and red carpet events.
- Maintain press lists, media contact databases, campaign calendars, and shared departmental resources across internal systems and media platforms.
- Support on-the-ground execution of publicity events such as panels, premieres, screenings, and press junkets, including availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and vendor onboarding while assisting with budget tracking and expense reporting across active campaigns.
What You Bring
- Minimum one year of experience in publicity, communications, marketing, or a related entertainment industry role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Google Workspace as used in a studio or agency publicity environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines across concurrent television campaigns without letting details slip.
- Strong written communication skills with experience drafting press copy or publicity materials.
- Comfort working directly with talent, talent representatives, PR agencies, and members of the media in a professional capacity.
Why This Role
Disney Entertainment Television oversees one of the largest television content portfolios in the industry, giving this Publicity Coordinator exposure to a range of programming types that most coordinators at smaller shops rarely see. The Burbank-based team works across broadcast, cable, and streaming properties, which means the skills built here translate broadly across the television publicity landscape. Career development in studio publicity does not get a cleaner on-ramp than this.
