Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Apple is hiring a Production Finance Assistant Accountant in the Los Angeles metro area to support the financial operations of Apple TV original content. This role sits within the production finance department, responsible for budgeting, cost reporting, and day-to-day financial management across Apple TV’s episodic television and film productions. It suits an early-career accountant who already understands how money moves through a production and wants to build their credits on a major streaming slate.

About the Role

You will be embedded in the production finance team that oversees Apple TV’s original programming, working directly with production stakeholders to keep financial operations accurate and on schedule. A typical day involves tracking production expenditures, supporting cost reports, and ensuring the numbers align with what is actually happening on set or in post-production workflow. This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week, based in Los Angeles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining production budgets and cost reports for Apple TV original series and films throughout their production lifecycle.
  • Process and review purchase orders, invoices, and payment requests in accordance with production finance procedures.
  • Reconcile petty cash, purchase card transactions, and weekly crew payroll to ensure accuracy across episodic television production cycles.
  • Support the preparation of financial reporting packages for internal stakeholders, flagging variances between estimated and actual costs.
  • Coordinate with department heads and line producers to gather financial data and maintain up-to-date records during active production periods.
  • Assist in audit preparation and ensure financial documentation complies with Apple’s internal controls and production accounting standards.

What You Bring

  • Prior experience in production accounting or production finance, ideally on feature film or episodic television projects.
  • Proficiency with production accounting software such as Movie Magic Budgeting or similar industry tools.
  • Solid understanding of how costs flow through a production, from pre-production through post-production.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets for cost tracking and financial reconciliation.
  • Ability to manage multiple productions or projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail on financial records.

Why This Role

Apple TV has built one of the more substantive original content libraries in streaming, with a production slate that spans prestige drama, feature film, and documentary, giving a production finance professional genuine breadth of experience. Working inside Apple means access to a finance infrastructure and internal process standard that is difficult to find at smaller studios or independent production companies. For someone looking to grow in production finance at the streaming level, this is a meaningful credit to hold.
