Simplex, a boutique marketing agency based in Washington DC, is hiring a full-time Photographer / Videographer and Content Producer to own production across its client roster. This role sits at the center of the agency’s content production workflow, responsible for shooting and editing photo and video assets across social media campaigns, branded content, and digital advertising for 8 to 12 active client accounts. It suits a shooter and editor who has run independent productions from pre-production through final delivery and wants real ownership of the work rather than a support position.

About the Role

This is the agency’s first dedicated full-time production hire, which means the person stepping into this role will shape how content gets made at Simplex from the ground up. On any given week, that looks like 2 to 3 client shoot days across the DMV, handling lighting and audio setup, directing on-camera talent, and delivering finished assets in post. The production scope runs from polished campaign photography to short-form social video content built for Reels and TikTok.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead client content shoots from pre-production planning through final delivery, including shot lists, gear prep, and location logistics across DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
• Operate mirrorless and DSLR camera systems across varied lighting conditions, alongside social-first iPhone capture for vertical video formats.
• Set up and run professional lighting and audio equipment on location and in studio configurations.
• Edit short-form video content for social media distribution in Premiere Pro, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve, with color correction and finishing in Lightroom and Photoshop.
• Direct clients, staff, and on-camera talent through shoots, putting people at ease who are not accustomed to being filmed.
• Maintain the agency’s production equipment inventory and coordinate additional shooters when project scope requires it.

What You Bring

• 3 or more years of professional photography and videography experience, with a portfolio of work you shot and edited yourself.
• Fluency in manual camera operation, exposure, composition, and location audio, with the ability to explain your technical decisions.
• Hands-on post-production experience in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Lightroom, and Photoshop.
• Demonstrated comfort with social media content production including vertical video, platform trends, and short-form editing formats.
• Reliable transportation and proximity within roughly 30 minutes of Georgetown to reach shoots on schedule with gear.
