Job Position(s): Online Editor
Project Type: TV Series
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Warner Bros. Discovery is hiring an Online Editor based in London to join their post-production operation. This role sits within the finishing department, responsible for conforming edited sequences, managing picture lock deliverables, and preparing final masters across scripted and unscripted television content. It suits an editor who is comfortable working deep in the post-production workflow and knows their way around a high-volume broadcast pipeline.

About the Role

The Online Editor works within Warner Bros. Discovery’s London studio operations team, supporting content across a broad slate of television productions destined for linear and streaming platforms. Day to day, this means taking offline edits through to finished broadcast masters, handling conform, grading handoffs, audio sync, and QC preparation. The role demands someone who can manage multiple projects at various stages of completion without losing track of version control or delivery specs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conforming offline edits to high-resolution media using industry-standard finishing software, ensuring frame accuracy throughout the online post-production workflow.
  • Preparing and delivering broadcast masters to network and platform specifications, including UHD, HDR, and stereo or 5.1 audio configurations.
  • Coordinating with colorists and dubbing mixers to manage grade exports and audio returns within tight episodic television turnaround schedules.
  • Maintaining organised and documented project archives, ensuring all media, sequences, and deliverables are tracked and stored according to studio protocol.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues in incoming offline sequences, including missing media, mixed frame rates, and incorrect timecode across multi-cam or VFX-heavy edits.
  • Liaising with VFX teams to integrate finished visual effects shots at the correct specification and ensure version accuracy ahead of final output.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrable experience as an Online Editor on British or international broadcast television productions, with credits across scripted drama or high-end factual content.
  • Proficiency in Avid Media Composer and Resolve at a finishing level, with working knowledge of Edit Share or similar shared storage environments.
  • Solid understanding of broadcast delivery standards including AS-11, IMF packages, and platform-specific requirements for streaming distribution.
  • Experience working within a structured post-production facility or in-house studio operation, where deliverables are tracked through a formal workflow system.
  • Strong communication skills when working across departments, particularly with picture editors, VFX coordinators, and post supervisors.

Why This Role

Warner Bros. Discovery operates one of the most substantial content pipelines in the UK, with productions feeding into HBO Max, Discovery Plus, and traditional broadcast channels simultaneously. An Online Editor here works across a genuinely varied slate, which means consistent exposure to different genres, formats, and delivery requirements rather than being locked into a single show. London-based candidates will find this role offers real stability within a major studio infrastructure.

If you are an experienced Online Editor looking to bring your finishing skills to a major studio environment, apply to join Warner Bros. Discovery’s post-production team in London today.
