Rodeo FX is building its expression of interest roster for a Nuke Compositor / Motion Designer based in Los Angeles, focused on advertising and branded content production. This is a hybrid post-production role sitting within the Rodeo Ads division, where the artist moves between Nuke compositing and motion design to deliver finished frames across commercial, branded, and experiential projects. It suits a compositor who has built their career in VFX pipeline work and can also hold their own on graphic animation and 2D content creation.

About the Role

The Nuke Compositor / Motion Designer works inside Rodeo FX’s advertising division, contributing to projects that span broadcast commercials, branded content, and experiential campaigns. Day to day, this person is pulling CG renders into Nuke, keying and integrating live-action footage, and turning around motion design deliverables across multiple formats and platform specs. The role reports into Creative Directors and VFX Supervisors, with work shaped by client briefs and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Nuke scripts to composite live-action footage, CG renders, and photographic assets into polished final images for advertising post-production.
• Execute keying, rotoscoping, tracking, paint, and colour work to a broadcast and digital delivery standard.
• Create and animate graphic elements, titles, typography, and screen graphics using Photoshop and motion design tools, based on supplied creative references and briefs.
• Adapt finished work across multiple formats, durations, and platform delivery specifications without losing creative consistency.
• Interpret feedback from Creative Directors, VFX Supervisors, and clients, and implement revisions accurately within production schedules.
• Maintain organised project files, versioning, and naming conventions in line with the studio’s established post-production workflow.

What You Bring

• Demonstrable professional experience in Nuke compositing, with a reel that reflects commercial or advertising VFX work.
• Proficiency in Photoshop for asset preparation, retouching, and image manipulation alongside compositing work.
• Working knowledge of motion design principles, including timing, composition, and graphic animation.
• Experience delivering across multiple output formats and platforms within structured production schedules.
• Ability to read and respond to storyboards, style frames, and client briefs without extensive hand-holding.
