Netflix is hiring a Manager, Production Finance, Nonfiction – Live Sports & Entertainment based in Los Angeles, California. This role sits within the Production Finance department and owns the end-to-end financial management of live sports and entertainment productions, from initial budget builds through final cost reporting. It is best suited to an experienced production accountant or production finance professional who has worked across large-scale live event productions and is comfortable operating without an established playbook.

About the Role

The Manager, Production Finance, Nonfiction – Live Sports & Entertainment supports Netflix’s Live Creative Content team, working primarily on US-based live productions. Day-to-day, this person functions as the lead financial advisor on individual titles, sitting at the intersection of creative, production operations, and business affairs to keep budgets grounded and cost reporting accurate. The role is based in the Hollywood office with in-person expectations Monday through Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial management of live entertainment and sports titles, working directly with Netflix executives to align financial strategy with production goals from greenlight through delivery.
  • Build and maintain production budgets across all phases, vetting assumptions early and tracking actuals against estimates throughout the live production workflow.
  • Drive accurate, complete, and timely cost reporting in coordination with external production services companies and on-production accountants.
  • Partner with cross-functional internal teams including legal, business affairs, and operations to support day-to-day financial decision-making on active productions.
  • Develop and scale finance processes specific to live event television, applying established production accounting practices to a format that is still being built out at the company.
  • Manage cash flow, funding processes, and show-level compliance with Netflix policies while maintaining current production data across internal systems.

What You Bring

  • Seven to ten years of production finance or production accounting experience, ideally across live event television, live sports broadcast, or large-scale nonfiction production.
  • Demonstrated expertise in entertainment industry budgeting and cost tracking software used in episodic television and live production environments.
  • Proven ability to adapt established production accounting workflows to new production formats or first-time initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with financial applications to solve complex, production-specific problems.
  • A degree in accounting or finance is preferred.

Why This Role

Netflix is building its live production infrastructure from the ground up, which means the Manager, Production Finance, Nonfiction – Live Sports & Entertainment has real influence over how these processes get shaped, not just executing a system someone else built. The compensation range for this role is $140,000.00 to $245,000.00, structured as base salary with an employee-elected stock option component, plus comprehensive benefits including a 401(k) with employer match and flexible time off for salaried employees. For a production finance professional looking to work at the intersection of live sports television and scripted-scale streaming, this is a rare staff position with genuine scope.
