Job Type
FOX Entertainment is hiring a Manager, Digital Content Distribution (YouTube) based in Los Angeles, California. This role sits within the digital distribution team and is responsible for the day-to-day performance and growth of FOX Entertainment’s YouTube presence across its broadcast and streaming content library. It suits a digital video specialist who reads platform data the way a showrunner reads a script, with genuine fluency in YouTube as a distribution and audience development channel.
About the Role
The Manager, Digital Content Distribution works at the intersection of content strategy, digital publishing workflow, and audience analytics, supporting titles across FOX’s broadcast network, unscripted productions, and animation slate including properties from Bento Box Entertainment. A typical day involves pulling YouTube Analytics to inform thumbnail and title decisions, syncing with creative and social teams on publishing calendars, and working with an external agency partner to test content formats from long-form episodes to Shorts. This is an on-site role requiring a minimum of four days per week at the Los Angeles office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily publishing operations across FOX Entertainment YouTube channels, including metadata optimization, playlist management, and end screen configuration to support discoverability.
- Own thumbnail, title, and description strategy across the content library, applying a working knowledge of YouTube search and browse behavior to improve click-through and retention.
- Use YouTube Analytics and third-party tools to surface performance trends and translate findings into concrete recommendations for both creative and distribution strategy.
- Maintain publishing calendars in close coordination with programming, marketing, and social media teams to ensure episodic television and unscripted content launches are sequenced effectively.
- Test and evaluate content formats including clips, full episodes, and Shorts, working alongside producers and editors to ensure assets are packaged for platform performance.
- Report regularly on channel health, audience sentiment, and growth metrics, presenting learnings to cross-departmental stakeholders and contributing to KPI development.
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience managing a large YouTube channel, ideally within a broadcast television, streaming, or entertainment studio environment.
- Proficiency with YouTube Studio, YouTube Analytics, and familiarity with third-party digital video analytics platforms.
- A track record of content optimization across metadata, thumbnails, and publishing cadence that demonstrably moved audience or retention metrics.
- Ability to work across departments including production, marketing, and external agency partners within a structured episodic or seasonal content calendar.
- Strong command of how algorithm behavior, audience development, and content packaging interact on the platform.
Why This Role
FOX Entertainment carries one of the more varied content slates in broadcast television, spanning animation, unscripted competition, procedural drama, and culinary programming, which means the YouTube distribution work here spans genuinely different audiences and formats. The company has been building its owned content library aggressively since 2019, and this role sits close to that growth strategy. For someone who wants to shape how a major broadcast network shows up in digital video distribution, this is a substantive position with real scope.
