Disney is hiring a KABC-TV (ABC7) Broadcast Technology/IT Intern for Spring 2027 at their Glendale, CA facility. This intern works directly within the broadcast engineering and IT department at one of Los Angeles’s top-rated television stations, supporting everything from broadcast automation systems to live remote production workflows. The role is a strong fit for a junior or senior-level student pursuing a degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field who wants hands-on exposure to broadcast television infrastructure.

About the Role

KABC-TV operates across broadcast, streaming, and social channels, and the IT and broadcast technology team keeps all of it running. This intern works alongside the technical staff supporting daily station operations, which means touching IP transmission systems, help desk troubleshooting, and field production setups on the same week. The internship runs from January 2027 through early June 2027, with a full-time 40-hour weekly schedule that may include nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software across broadcast and office environments at the station.
• Support preventative maintenance on broadcast automation systems and IP transmission infrastructure used in daily live television operations.
• Resolve help desk requests from station staff, diagnosing technical issues across operating systems and networked devices.
• Install and test technology systems across departments, from newsroom workstations to broadcast signal routing equipment.
• Assist with remote production setups including remote newscasts and live community parade coverage in the Los Angeles market.
• Work with broadcast television technical systems including routers, encoders, storage systems, and video transport infrastructure.

What You Bring

• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, with junior or senior standing preferred in computer science, IT, computer networking, engineering, or radio/television/film.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft operating systems, with any exposure to Microsoft Server OS considered a plus.
• Experience with basic computer building, imaging, and troubleshooting, or prior help desk support in a production or IT environment.
• Familiarity with network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls, and a general understanding of virtual or cloud computing concepts.
• A valid U.S. driver’s license is required, as operating a company vehicle is part of this role.
