Key Responsibilities

• Edit and assemble raw footage into finished news segments that meet ABC7 editorial standards and broadcast deadlines.
• Manage and operate microwave and satellite signals, IFB, frame synchronizers, Dejero, and LiveU during live news broadcasts.
• Work with executive producers and reporters throughout the post-production workflow to develop visually compelling stories and special project edits.
• Troubleshoot transmission issues and resolve technical problems with editing equipment as they arise during live production windows.
• Organize and maintain video files within the station’s digital asset management system, including Dalet Galaxy where applicable.
• Edit vertical 9:16 video content optimized for mobile platforms using Adobe Premiere, in addition to standard broadcast deliverables.

What You Bring

• A minimum of three years of professional experience as a video editor, preferably within broadcast news production.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with specific experience in Adobe Premiere for both broadcast and mobile-optimized formats.
• Hands-on experience with color correction, audio mixing, and motion graphics integration in a news post environment.
• Working knowledge of video formats, codecs, and live signal management tools including Dejero and LiveU.
• Dalet Galaxy experience is a plus for candidates coming out of broadcast or news operations workflows.
• A high school diploma is required as the minimum educational qualification for this position.
