Comedy Television series looking for a NON-UNION Head Writer

We are a Toronto production company who produces award-winning television. We are seeking to expand our successful team with fresh comic minds for the new 12-episode season of our established scripted comedy TV series.

Must Be:

• Non-Union
• A resident of Ontario for the past two years consecutively
• A Canadian citizen

Qualifications:

• Strong leadership skills
• Prior experience working in/running a writers room
• Experience writing for scripted television
• Can tell a funny story in a page and a half
• Skilled at story arcs, episode treatments, and dialogue scenes
• Can meet hard deadlines
• Strong interest and understanding in comedy
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Can work independently and collaborate in a writers group

Responsibilities involve but not limited to:

• Work directly under our Showrunner and Director
• Lead writers room
• Maintain show’s consistent tone
• Arc a story and pace a 30 min comedy
• Writing scripts, dialogue, voiceover

Starts immediately. Rate based on experience.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour
