Stampede Studios runs a full-service finishing operation handling everything from feature film deliverables to episodic television, trailers, and EPKs. The Freelance Online/Finishing Assistant Editor works directly within that department, keeping sessions organized, managing media, and making sure the finishing team can move quickly and cleanly through each project. Days move at a clip, and the expectation is that you come in ready to support multiple editors and artists across concurrent post-production workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Online Editors with session prep, media management, and conforming picture for finishing on feature film and television projects.
• Manage and organize audio and video files across multiple codec formats to ensure clean handoffs between editorial, color, and audio departments.
• Support Colorists and Audio Mixers by prepping and delivering properly formatted media that meets project and delivery specifications.
• Maintain detailed, accurate notes and versioning logs so the finishing team can track changes across complex post-production timelines.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in DaVinci Resolve sessions and flag any media or sync problems before they reach the Online Editor or Colorist.
• Coordinate with Post Producers and Post Supervisors to keep deliverable schedules on track across multiple projects simultaneously.

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience working as an assistant editor in a post-production finishing environment, ideally across trailers, commercials, or episodic television.
• Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve is required, not optional.
• Solid working knowledge of a wide range of audio and video codecs and file formats used in professional post-production delivery.
• Strong organizational habits and clear communication skills suited to an onsite, deadline-driven finishing facility.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks across concurrent projects without losing track of details or version history.
