About the Role

The Editor-Writer, Wellness CNN works within CNN’s editorial content team, contributing directly to the strategy and execution of the Wellness vertical across digital media platforms. Day to day, this person is writing, editing, and shaping short-form and multi-platform content, supporting subject-matter experts through script development and pre-interview prep, and refining repeatable formats that build audience habits. This is not a traditional health-reporting desk job, it is a content creation role that sits at the crossroads of editorial strategy and audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute short-form, multi-platform content concepts across social media, newsletters, audio, and video formats within the CNN Wellness editorial workflow.
• Translate wellness topics including mental health, nutrition, fitness, mindfulness, and longevity into accessible service journalism that meets audiences across platforms.
• Write and edit with clarity and speed under tight deadlines, maintaining journalistic accuracy and fact-checking standards across all content types.
• Collaborate on scripting, talent bookings, and pre-interview preparation to support subject-matter experts contributing to the vertical.
• Build and refine repeatable editorial formats designed to create consistent audience engagement and platform stickiness across digital media.
• Contribute to the editorial direction of CNN Wellness, including adapting content for evolving social platforms and shifting audience behaviors.

What You Bring

• Seven to ten or more years of professional writing and editing experience across digital media, service journalism, or multi-platform content creation.
• A track record of interpreting and fact-checking scientific research, wellness trends, and health data for general audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to produce content across formats, with audio or podcast production experience considered a strong plus.
• Sharp editorial instincts for how storytelling evolves across mediums, particularly within social platforms and short-form digital content.
• Direct experience with health, wellness, or human behavior content at a professional editorial level.
