Job Description:

The NT’s Costume Department is looking to add to our casual pool of professional for the Costume Production area:   Costume makers, Costume Prop makers, Textile Artists and Buyers.

We are looking for dedicated and experienced technicians to support the work of the Costume Department during our busy periods. We work on up to shows every year within out three Southbank theatres – the Olivier, Lyttleton and Dorfman – as well as West End transfer and Learning touring shows, and we need to call upon casual and temporary staff when we have more work than our permanent staff can support due to the demands of the shows in rehearsal.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills, self-motivation are highly valued within the NT, and we are on the lookout for people with those skills alongside significant prior theatrical or film experience at a professional level, who are able to hit the ground running in the following areas of specialism: Making (Womens making and Mens tailoring), Costume Props Making, Buying Support and Textile Artists.

The application process:

When submitting your cover letter and CV please state which area of specialism you are interested in.

You may be asked to attend a practical interview, or we may contact you directly for casual work as and when we require support. If you are successful, you will be asked to attend a half day onsite induction, for which you will be paid. Our managers will then be given your contact details and will be in touch with you when work opportunities arise.
