This role sits within the Content Protection and Compliance team, where the work centers on securing the digital assets, production technologies, and intellectual property that underpin feature film and visual effects production. About the Role

The Content Security and Compliance Engineer works at the intersection of the security operations, infrastructure, and production engineering teams at one of the most established VFX studios in the industry. Day-to-day work involves validating system configurations, assessing cloud security controls, supporting audit activities, and helping integrate security requirements into the VFX pipeline without disrupting production workflows. This is not a policy-only role, as the expectation is direct involvement in tooling, configuration, and incident response alongside the broader security team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct business and technical gap assessments to surface security, compliance, and operational risks across production and infrastructure environments.
• Implement, configure, and operate SIEM and security compliance monitoring tools, including OpenSCAP, to validate system configurations against established security baselines.
• Evaluate cloud security services relevant to the animation studio environment, validating controls and recommending secure configurations for production workloads.
• Lead and support internal and external audit activities, providing technical evidence, documentation, and remediation guidance throughout the audit cycle.
• Review engineering solution designs in collaboration with production technology teams to advise on secure implementations before they reach the VFX pipeline.
• Develop and maintain security standards, procedures, and compliance artifacts that reflect the specific content protection requirements of the media and entertainment industry.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security Specialty, SABSA, or Trusted Partner Network Assessor are preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with security compliance monitoring, risk assessment methodologies, and remediation tracking in a production or media technology environment.
• Hands-on familiarity with cloud security controls and configuration validation tools within environments that support large-scale digital content workflows.
• Comfort working across engineering, production, and audit teams in a studio or post-production context.
