Chief Operations Director

Warner Bros. Discovery is hiring a Chief Operations Director for its Warner Bros. Studio Tour Shanghai location in the Jingan District, a new permanent attraction built around the production world of Harry Potter. This role sits at the head of the entire tour operation, responsible for visitor experience strategy, floor-level service delivery, and the day-to-day management of a multi-department attractions team. It suits a senior operations professional who has run large-scale, high-throughput visitor attractions or live entertainment venues and knows how to build a service culture from the ground up.

About the Role

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Shanghai is an indoor production experience that pulls back the curtain on filmmaking, putting visitors inside the sets, props, and craft of one of the most recognised film franchises in history. The Chief Operations Director oversees every stage of the visitor journey, from pre-arrival booking services through to final exit, working across teams covering guest experience, safety, floor presentation, and seasonal programming. A typical day moves between staff floor walks, service standard reviews, project check-ins on upcoming events, and escalation management for complaints or operational issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the visitor experience department to deliver consistent presentation standards across all exhibit areas, including sets, props, signage, and wayfinding.
• Develop and execute the forward operations strategy, including seasonal event programming designed to drive repeat visits to the attraction.
• Manage approximately five direct reports while maintaining overall accountability for a large, diverse front-of-house team across all operational hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Set and monitor service level agreements across all tour functions to ensure operational readiness is maintained throughout every public session.
• Project-manage specific visitor experience initiatives from brief through to delivery, coordinating with internal departments and the joint venture partner, Jinjiang International.
• Handle visitor complaints and trade client enquiries to a defined standard of resolution, ensuring all correspondence is managed within agreed timescales.

What You Bring

• Proven senior leadership experience in visitor attractions, live entertainment production, or large-scale themed experiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing floor teams in a high-throughput, guest-facing environment.
• Experience developing operational strategy for seasonal programming and event-based attendance drivers.
• Strong background in complaint resolution and service standard management at a director level.
• Ability to work a full-time, on-site schedule including evenings and weekends as the operation requires.
