Casting Call Charlotte

How to audition:

1. Choose one of two characters below.

2. Film a 2-3 minute audition (phone video is fine) and submit it with your headshot/resume.

3. Email the audition

Suggested Characters:

1. Recent high school graduate who has decided not to go to college.

2. Under 25 year old US military vet recently discharged looking for a new career.

Concept: You are a new hire working in the steel fabrication industry, learning the basics. The location and trainers are genuine professionals but you will create and inhabit the role of the trainee. Think “Dirty Jobs” and you’re Mike Rowe. Situations will include live training, interviews in character, and some VO narration. You’ll also be using tools, reading lists and labels, lifting and carrying construction materials.

Audition:

Create a dynamic character based on one of the suggestions above. Feel free to use aspects of your own background and personality if you like.

Imagine you are interviewing for the job. Tell us: Why do you want this job? Why do you need this job? And why do you think you’d be good at it?

Impress us with your take in an improvisational audition.

Submissions must be in by 5 pm Eastern Tuesday 9/12/23.

Callbacks will be live with the director via Google Meet on Wednesday afternoon.

We will cast someone by Thursday–some potential for future work in the same role.
