Amazon MGM Studios is hiring a Broadcast Systems Engineer for Prime Video Live Sports, based at their Culver City, CA campus. This role sits inside the Live Sports Production Technical Operations team, where the work is building and running the compute, virtualization, and broadcast infrastructure that keeps live sports on air across properties like the NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL, NWSL, and NASCAR. It’s a fit for a systems engineer who has operated in a live broadcast environment and understands what uptime actually means when a game is in progress.

About the Role

You’ll be part of the core engineering team constructing and operating a broadcast campus in Culver City, working directly alongside network engineers, broadcast technicians, and architects on infrastructure that supports live sports production at scale. Day to day, that means managing server fleets across production, engineering, and post-production environments, maintaining Proxmox VE hypervisor clusters, and providing hands-on technical support during live broadcast events. When something breaks during a live sports telecast, you’re part of the team that fixes it.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and integrate production systems across the broadcast facility, coordinating with network engineers, vendors, and production staff to bring new infrastructure online on schedule.
• Manage the full server lifecycle from procurement support and automated provisioning through patching, configuration management, and decommissioning, including physical rack and cabling work.
• Administer Linux, Windows, and macOS systems at scale across live production, engineering, and post-production workflows.
• Maintain Proxmox VE hypervisor clusters and lifecycle-manage virtual machines supporting broadcast applications, media services, and control systems.
• Build and maintain a monitoring and alerting platform covering compute, virtualization, storage, network, and broadcast systems layers, integrating telemetry via APIs, Syslog, and SNMP.
• Develop automation scripts, provisioning pipelines, and tooling that reduce manual operations and scale with a growing broadcast infrastructure fleet.

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience administering Linux systems at scale in a live broadcast or live events production environment.
• Working knowledge of Proxmox VE or comparable hypervisor platforms used in broadcast infrastructure or post-production workflow contexts.
• Experience with configuration management, patching programs, and rollback procedures in environments where downtime carries real consequences.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and telemetry integration using SNMP, Syslog, or API-based approaches across a mixed infrastructure stack.
• Scripting ability in at least one language, applied to automation of repeatable broadcast systems engineering tasks.
