Job Position(s): AV, Editorial & Office Technology Technician Los Angeles, United States
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

DNEG is hiring an AV, Editorial and Office Technology Technician for their Los Angeles office. This role sits at the intersection of post-production workflow and facility operations, keeping the screening room, editorial review pipeline, and client-facing presentation spaces running at a professional standard. It suits a technician who has worked in a VFX studio, post house, or broadcast environment and knows the difference between a client screening and an internal review.

About the Role

This position is embedded in DNEG’s LA office, supporting the technology needs of production teams, executives, and visiting filmmakers and clients. Day to day, the work covers screening room operations, AV support for meetings and presentations, editorial media preparation, and general office technology troubleshooting. The role is the local technical point of contact, meaning problems land with you first and you see them through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the DNEG LA screening room, including projection, playback, and audio systems, and QC content ahead of client and filmmaker screenings.
  • Set up and support AV for internal meetings, executive presentations, and high-profile client reviews across conference and presentation spaces.
  • Prepare, ingest, and organize video and image-based content for screenings and review sessions, including basic edits, trims, exports, and format conversions.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and conferencing issues across the office, escalating to central IT or external vendors when required.
  • Support new starters with workstation setup and assist with office moves and technology installations as the facility evolves.
  • Coordinate screening room and media requirements with Production and Editorial teams to ensure correct versions are available and review workflows run without issue.

What You Bring

  • Two to five years of hands-on experience in AV, post-production, editorial support, or a related technical environment within film, television, or VFX.
  • Practical experience operating a professional screening room, including projection and playback systems.
  • Working knowledge of video formats, codecs, resolutions, and frame rates relevant to post-production workflow.
  • Experience with Avid, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or comparable editorial tools.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills across meeting room technology, video conferencing, and general office hardware and software.

Why This Role

DNEG is one of the most credited VFX and animation studios working across feature film and episodic television, with facilities across multiple continents and a consistent presence on major studio productions. The LA office is a client-facing hub, which means this technician works alongside filmmakers and executives regularly, not just internal staff. For someone with a post-production or VFX facility background, the breadth of the role offers genuine variety across technology disciplines.
