Associate Video Editor

Golden Pet Brands is hiring an Associate Video Editor to work hybrid across El Segundo and Burbank/North Hollywood, CA. This role sits inside the brand’s in-house creative team, focused on short-form and long-form social media video production, editing performance-driven ad content for platforms including Facebook and YouTube. It’s a strong fit for an early-career editor who wants real reps in direct-response video content and understands that social media post-production workflow is its own discipline.

About the Role

The Associate Video Editor works within Golden Pet Brands’ internal content team, cutting and optimizing marketing videos across multiple pet brand campaigns rather than a single production. Day-to-day work runs from pulling selects and building mashup ads from existing footage, to shooting quick iPhone pickups for thumbstopper hooks, to exporting deliverables in 4×5, 9×16, and 16×9 for retail and social platforms. The edit decisions here are data-informed, meaning you’ll be reviewing performance metrics and translating what’s working into the next round of creative variations.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and export short-form and long-form video optimizations in 4×5, 9×16, and 16×9 formats for social media and retail distribution.
• Build mashup ads and creative variations from existing footage libraries, guided by platform performance data rather than gut instinct alone.
• Shoot original footage on iPhone for use as thumbstopper hooks at the top of paid social ads.
• Analyze video performance data and bring specific, actionable creative notes back to Creative Directors and Producers.
• Coordinate with Producers, Offer Managers, and Creative Directors to align edit priorities across multiple brand campaigns simultaneously.
• Maintain consistent brand storytelling and visual aesthetic across content of varying lengths and formats.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on post-production experience in a commercial or digital content environment.
• Proficiency in professional video editing software used in modern social media production pipelines.
• A working eye for composition, pacing, and thumbnail-level imagery that stops a scroll.
• Comfort reading performance data and connecting metrics back to creative decisions.
• Experience managing multiple deadlines across concurrent projects without dropping deliverables.

The company covers 100% of premiums for employee medical, dental, and vision, offers an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, and includes quarterly KPI bonus potential on top of an annual bonus. The base salary range is $22.50 to $30.10 per hour, plus bonus potential, based on experience and California cost of labor.
