Assistant Producer

This is a production role sitting within the sports content department, responsible for developing, scripting, and delivering programming across WBD Sports channels and platforms in the UK market. About the Role

The Assistant Producer works directly alongside the Producer across the full production cycle, from concept development through to delivery of finished content for live and recorded sports programming. Day to day, this means writing scripts and teases, directing off-site multi-camera shoots, supervising edit sessions, and keeping content on schedule across multiple workstreams. The role operates across both studio-based production and outside broadcast environments, so familiarity with the full live production workflow is genuinely useful here.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and produce content elements including scripts, teases, and features for live sports programming and recorded shows across WBD Sports platforms.
• Direct off-site multi-camera shoots, occasionally with high-profile contributors, managing the shoot from briefing through to wrap.
• Supervise edit sessions and audio record sessions, ensuring turnaround times are met without compromising the quality of the finished piece.
• Generate story ideas and take them from initial concept through to fully produced programme elements ready for broadcast.
• Liaise with production team members, suppliers, and third parties to ensure all project tasks are delivered to deadline.
• Contribute to workflow discussions and help identify process improvements that increase production efficiency across assigned programmes.

What You Bring

• Solid working knowledge of broadcast production environments, including studio-based shows, remote productions, and outside broadcasts.
• Proven ability to produce and direct ENG camera shoots in a live sports or episodic television context.
• Working knowledge of non-linear editing techniques with the ability to turn around edits quickly under broadcast deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to managing multiple deliverables across a busy production schedule.
• Self-shooting ability is a plus, though not a requirement for the role.
