Warner Bros. Discovery is hiring an Advanced Systems Engineer (Broadcast & Live Production) based in Atlanta, GA. This role sits within the broadcast and live production engineering department, responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the signal flow architectures and IP transport infrastructures that keep linear and non-linear productions on air. It is the right fit for a senior broadcast engineer who is already functioning as a subject matter expert in SMPTE ST 2110, SDI, or software-defined networking environments and wants to work at scale.

About the Role

The Advanced Systems Engineer operates across multiple WBD facilities, supporting both traditional broadcast infrastructure and cloud-based production workflows used in live event broadcasting and episodic television delivery. Day to day, this person is leading infrastructure deployments, running Tier 3 escalations during high-profile live broadcasts, and acting as the senior technical resource for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams. They are also expected to drive proof-of-concept testing and technology evaluations that shape how Warner Bros. Discovery builds its next generation of broadcast systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain end-to-end signal flow architectures for live production facilities, including SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, JPEG XS, NDI, and SRT transport technologies.
• Configure and support broadcast control systems, orchestration platforms, router control panels, and software-defined networking solutions across multi-facility environments.
• Develop monitoring strategies for signal integrity, path redundancy, quality of service, and fault detection in live broadcast workflows.
• Lead major incident calls during critical live production events, including taking on Incident Manager responsibilities when required.
• Manage the full project lifecycle from equipment specification and bill of materials through to system integration, vendor coordination, and staff training.
• Create and maintain signal flow documentation, routing maps, knowledgebase articles, and operational standards used by engineering and operations teams.

What You Bring

• Deep hands-on experience with IP broadcast transport protocols, particularly SMPTE ST 2110 and related live production infrastructure.
• Proven background in broadcast systems engineering across live event production, linear broadcast, or large-scale episodic television operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering projects including system design, cost estimation, and integration oversight.
• Experience providing Tier 3 escalation support and mentoring junior engineers in broadcast or production engineering environments.
• Strong communication skills sufficient to deliver system overviews and technical training to both engineering peers and operational staff.
