Because We Are Girls Screening

Three of the most courageous women you will ever see – three sisters, Indo-Canadian women who grew up in Williams Lake, BC – share their story in this groundbreaking documentary from local filmmaker, Baljit Sangra.

Although Because We Are Girls is sometimes a distressing film to watch, it is also ultimately inspiring and empowering, to see ancient prejudices confronted and overturned, survivors reaching out to demand recognition and respect, and setting out an example for their own children. Get your passes!

Cold Reading Series

Check out the Cold Reading Series this month! If you’re a writer, it’s a great way to hear your script read out loud, get some feedback, and find out what works and what doesn’t. For actors, it’s great practice to do a reading in front of an audience and work on your vocalization. For everyone else, it’s just a great time!
