Senior Video Editor – Fixed-Term Contract

Job Position(s): Senior Video Editor - Fixed-Term Contract

StudioB is hiring a Senior Video Editor on a fixed-term contract based at their Mill Hill studio in North West London. This role sits within StudioB’s post-production team, with the editor responsible for cutting long-form YouTube content and Shorts from raw footage through to final delivery. It suits an editor who has built their craft specifically around digital-first video and understands YouTube as a platform, not just as a distribution channel.

About the Role

The Senior Video Editor will work directly alongside Producers and Directors inside StudioB’s creative and production team, shaping content that is built for YouTube audiences from the ground up. Day to day, that means managing the full post-production workflow across multiple projects, from assembly edit to final export, while maintaining consistent quality across both long-form and short-form formats. The contract runs until 31 December 2026, with the potential to extend into 2027 depending on production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit long-form YouTube videos and Shorts, applying pacing and structural decisions that drive audience retention from the opening hook through to the final frame.
• Identify the strongest material in raw footage and build edits around it, using music, sound design, and transitions to serve the story rather than decorate it.
• Repurpose long-form content into platform-native short-form cuts for YouTube Shorts and other social formats.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects inside the post-production workflow, hitting delivery deadlines without dropping technical or creative standards.
• Handle colour correction, audio mixing, and basic motion graphics as part of finishing, ensuring all deliverables meet StudioB’s output specifications.
• Identify inefficiencies in existing editing workflows and bring practical solutions to improve production turnaround.

What You Bring

• Demonstrable experience as a Senior Video Editor working specifically on YouTube content, with a reel that shows strong instincts for digital-first storytelling.
• Proficiency in industry-standard editing software, with a solid understanding of post-production pipeline organisation including file management and asset handling.
• Working knowledge of colour correction, audio mixing, and motion graphics sufficient to finish content without requiring a separate specialist on routine deliverables.
• A clear understanding of YouTube analytics and what edit-level decisions influence retention, click-through, and watch time.
• Experience adapting editing style across different creators, brands, and audience demographics within a single production environment.

Why This Role

StudioB operates out of a dedicated studio in North West London and produces content with genuine reach on YouTube, giving an editor real visibility into what works at scale on the platform. The role carries meaningful creative ownership, with editors expected to challenge cuts and contribute ideas rather than simply execute briefs. For a Senior Video Editor looking to work inside a focused digital content operation rather than a generalist post-production house, this is a substantive contract with a realistic path to extension.
