The IT Coordinator role sits within the Production Technology team, keeping editorial infrastructure, on-set networks, and review systems operational across the full production lifecycle from prep through wrap. About the Role

IT Coordinators are embedded within individual productions as the primary on-the-ground technology contact, working across feature film production and episodic television at one of the UK’s largest studio facilities. Day to day, that means managing editorial storage systems, supporting on-set wireless infrastructure, coordinating with third-party vendors, and keeping workstations and playback systems running reliably under real production pressure. Successful candidates are matched to productions as freelance contractors, with assignments covering single shows or multiple concurrent productions.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain production office workstations and shared storage systems including Avid Nexis and NAS/SAN platforms used across editorial, VFX, and post-production departments.
• Support production network infrastructure including VLANs, wired and wireless connectivity, and integration with the studio backbone network and enterprise IT systems.
• Provide hands-on on-set IT support for video village connectivity, data wrangling stations, dailies playback, and location-based mobile connectivity solutions.
• Coordinate hardware procurement, equipment rentals, and managed services with external vendors, ensuring delivery aligns with production milestones and schedules.
• Develop and maintain production-specific documentation including network diagrams, equipment inventories, and runbooks that remain usable across departments.
• Ensure compliance with content security requirements and manage user accounts, permissions, and software licensing in line with enterprise identity and access management policies.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated experience as an IT Coordinator or similar role within film or episodic television production environments.
• Working knowledge of Avid Nexis, NAS/SAN storage, cloud storage platforms, and editorial post-production workflow requirements.
• Practical experience configuring VLANs, firewalls, WAN connectivity, and wireless networks in stage or location settings.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, networking, and software issues independently during active shooting hours without escalation delays.
• Familiarity with content security protocols as applied in feature film production and episodic television contexts.
