Meta is hiring a Content Policy Manager, Actor and Behavioral Policy based in Washington, DC 20004, to lead the policy frameworks that govern how accounts, pages, and groups behave across its platforms. This role sits at the intersection of platform integrity and content moderation policy, owning the rulebooks that determine how actor-level enforcement works at scale, including how AI-driven moderation systems are governed and defended. It suits a senior trust and safety professional who has spent years making high-stakes calls on content policy and knows how to move cross-functional teams toward a decision without having direct authority over any of them.

About the Role

The Content Policy Manager, Actor and Behavioral Policy sits within Meta’s integrity and platform governance function, working across Product, Engineering, Legal, Communications, and Public Policy to shape how new features and products launch with appropriate safeguards in place. Day to day, this person is writing policy memos, counseling product teams before features reach users, and handling escalation coverage that sometimes requires availability outside standard hours. The role carries real ownership over governance frameworks for automated and AI-driven content moderation systems, which puts this person in the room on some of the highest-stakes decisions the company makes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define policy requirements and enforcement safeguards for new product launches, flagging tradeoffs and clarifying escalation paths before features go live.
  • Own actor-level enforcement policy, assessing proposals for impacts on free expression, safety, and enforcement precision across platform integrity operations.
  • Build and maintain governance frameworks for AI-driven content moderation to ensure accuracy and defensibility at scale.
  • Prepare clear leadership recommendations for cross-functional approvals, quantifying impact and accelerating alignment on high-stakes policy decisions.
  • Support on-call escalation coverage, making rapid, well-reasoned policy calls under time pressure across content moderation workflows.
  • Contribute to election readiness and crisis response coordination, working directly with integrity and legal teams as situations develop.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, political science, communications, or a related field.
  • Eight or more years of experience in content policy, trust and safety, or platform integrity at a technology company.
  • Demonstrated track record of building durable policy frameworks under tight timelines with competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Experience supporting election integrity or crisis response operations at a large-scale technology platform.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven or automated decision-making systems, including prompt engineering or agent orchestration workflows.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex policy positions clearly in writing to technical, operational, and executive audiences.

Why This Role

Meta’s content moderation and platform integrity work operates at a scale few organizations match, and the Content Policy Manager, Actor and Behavioral Policy has direct influence over policies that affect hundreds of millions of accounts. The Washington, DC location places this person close to the public policy and legal teams whose work intersects constantly with platform governance. For a senior trust and safety professional looking to shape policy at the infrastructure level rather than execute it, this is a role with genuine scope.

Apply now for the Content Policy Manager, Actor and Behavioral Policy position at Meta and bring your platform integrity experience to one of the most consequential policy functions in the industry.
