Disney is hiring an Assistant Legal Production Trainee based in Paris, France, to join their EMEA Legal team. This role sits within the original content and streaming production pipeline, supporting senior legal counsel on contracts, rights clearance, and compliance across Disney+ original productions and feature film acquisitions. It suits a law student or trainee with a background in intellectual property, audiovisual law, or media law who wants hands-on exposure to streaming television production at scale.

About the Role

The EMEA Legal team at Disney France oversees the contractual and rights framework for original productions destined for the Disney+ platform, as well as feature film distribution managed through the Studios division. Day to day, this trainee works directly with senior production legal managers, drafting and reviewing contracts across development, production, and delivery phases of original content and feature film acquisitions. The role is bilingual, with contract work conducted in both French and English across all stages of the production legal workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate production contracts including development agreements, author agreements, director agreements, composer agreements, and talent contracts for Disney+ original series and feature films.
  • Review and verify chain of title documentation including option and purchase agreements, publishing contracts, and performer agreements across original productions.
  • Analyze legal delivery documents as part of the post-production compliance and clearance process for original content.
  • Conduct legal research in copyright law, contract law, and areas of regulation affecting streaming television distribution and broadcast services.
  • Translate legal documents between English and French in support of international co-production and acquisition workflows.
  • Contribute to weekly legal monitoring reports and assist in preparing internal legal training presentations for the production and media teams.

What You Bring

  • A Master’s degree (Bac+5) in intellectual property law, audiovisual law, or media law is required.
  • Fluency in legal English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for document drafting, research compilation, and presentation preparation.
  • Prior exposure to entertainment law, film or television production contracts, or media rights is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to work with precision across multiple contract types within a structured production legal environment.

Why This Role

Disney France operates across theatrical distribution, linear broadcasting, and the Disney+ streaming platform, giving this trainee exposure to production legal work across three distinct content pipelines simultaneously. The position starts in January 2027 as a PPI internship, based at the Paris 16 offices. For a law trainee targeting a career in entertainment or streaming television production law, this is direct access to original content deal-making at one of the largest studios operating in Europe.
