Sony Pictures Entertainment is hiring an EVP, Post Production to be based out of Culver City, California. This executive leads all feature film post production operations across the studio’s full slate, overseeing editorial, sound, digital intermediate, image science, and delivery workflows from pre-production through final archival. It’s a role built for a seasoned post executive who has managed large-scale feature film production portfolios and knows how to hold together complex, multi-title pipelines without losing sight of the filmmaker’s cut.
About the Role
The EVP, Post Production sits at the center of Sony Pictures’ feature film department, overseeing roughly 12 to 15 movies per year across every phase of production. Day to day, that means budget oversight, vendor negotiations, editorial staffing, DI bids, and direct collaboration with cinematographers, sound editors, VFX teams, and studio leadership. This person sets the standard for post production workflow, content security, and image science across the entire slate.
Key Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction for image science workflows including ACES implementation, camera color space capture such as Alexa 35 LogC4, and digital workflow integration with DITs during principal photography.
- Supervise budgeting and cost projection for all post production, sound, editorial, and delivery requirements across the feature film portfolio.
- Oversee editorial staffing and resources across all pictures, including VFX editors and additional assistant editors, and manage room and equipment sourcing for productions returning from remote locations.
- Manage all vendor relationships for digital intermediate and sound mixing, obtaining competitive bids and ensuring compliance with current InfoSec and network security protocols.
- Oversee every work-in-progress screening, including remote previews and publicity screenings, while managing editorial turnovers for final conform with the sound post facility.
- Lead the migration of legacy deliverable assets to cloud-based storage and coordinate with Archival, Home Video, and worldwide distribution teams to ensure timely product fulfillment.
What You Bring
- Extensive senior-level experience in feature film post production, with a track record managing multi-title studio slates.
- Deep working knowledge of digital capture formats, image science, color pipeline standards, and DI workflows.
- Proven ability to manage post production budgets and financial risk across simultaneous productions at a major studio level.
- Experience working directly with cinematographers, supervising sound editors, and VFX pipelines from pre-production through delivery.
- Familiarity with cloud-based storage infrastructure, content security protocols, and production IT requirements for episodic or feature workflows.
