Job Position(s): Assistant Video Editor
Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Kodify Media Group is hiring an Assistant Video Editor based in Montréal, Québec. This role sits inside a high-volume post-production workflow, supporting a team of editors, directors, and producers in preparing, organizing, and delivering 4K content from ingest through final export. It is a strong fit for a Premiere Pro specialist who knows their way around a post-production pipeline and wants consistent, deadline-driven work with a stable production company.

About the Role

The Assistant Video Editor joins Kodify Media Group’s post-production department, working across a slate of original video content produced exclusively for the company’s own high-traffic digital platforms. Day-to-day work covers everything from organizing raw 4K footage and creating project files to prepping sequences for color in DaVinci Resolve and bringing them back into Premiere after grade. The role reports to the Post Production Manager and operates within a remote and in-house editorial team, so clear communication and disciplined file management are non-negotiable. Candidates must be comfortable working with adult entertainment content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ingest, sync, and organize 4K raw footage and audio assets according to post-production guidelines within Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Build and maintain project files for the editorial team, ensuring consistent structure and timely delivery to editors at the start of each production.
  • Prepare Premiere Pro sequences for handoff to the color department via XML export, then reintegrate graded media from DaVinci Resolve once the colorist pass is complete.
  • Perform quality control checks before and after final exports, confirming all deliverables meet technical specs before files leave the department.
  • Troubleshoot software and technical issues across Premiere Pro and related post-production tools to keep the pipeline moving without delays.
  • Support the Post Production Manager on special projects and workflow development, including assistance with motion graphics and audio editing as needed.

What You Bring

  • At least 3 years of professional video editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro as your primary post-production tool.
  • Working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, specifically around XML-based interchange with Premiere Pro for color pipeline handoffs.
  • Experience in a high-volume, deadline-driven editorial environment where managing multiple project files simultaneously is routine.
  • Strong attention to technical detail, particularly around file organization, export specs, and QC processes.
  • A reliable home setup with a fast internet connection, as the role involves collaboration with remote freelance editors and producers.

Why This Role

Kodify Media Group has been producing and distributing original video content for over 15 years, with a genuine infrastructure behind it including an international team, modern Montréal office space, and a 10% of annual salary training and development budget. Editors who stay three years earn a one-month paid sabbatical, and the company also offers extended parental leave, health insurance, a wellness budget, and an annual birthday day off. For an Assistant Video Editor looking for long-term stability and real investment in their post-production career, this is a company that backs it up with specific, concrete commitments.
