About the Role

The Pipeline CCTV Camera Operator works within Vortex Companies’ trenchless inspection and maintenance division, supporting sewer maintenance, inspection, and pipeline rehabilitation projects across multiple service areas. Travel is required, and a typical day involves locating manholes from plan sets, deploying CCTV equipment to record pipeline interiors, and operating high-pressure jetting equipment to clean lines ahead of inspection or lining. The operator is also responsible for equipment maintenance, footage storage, and setting up traffic control in active street environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate remote CCTV camera systems to record and document the interior condition of pipelines, generating inspection footage used to determine cleaning requirements and lining candidacy.
• Perform confined space entry operations in compliance with safety protocols while conducting sewer inspection and rehabilitation pipeline tasks.
• Locate manholes from maps and plan sets, applying strong knowledge of plans and specifications throughout each inspection assignment.
• Conduct jetting, cabling, and vactoring operations on sewer lines, manholes, and lift stations as part of routine maintenance and pre-inspection cleaning workflow.
• Set up and break down traffic control in street environments per project requirements, maintaining a safe work zone throughout operations.
• Maintain, operate, and store all assigned equipment, including high-pressure sewer cleaning systems and CCTV inspection technology.

What You Bring

• At least one year of field experience in water, sewer, televising, jetting, or CIPP construction environments.
• Working knowledge of closed-circuit video camera equipment and high-pressure sewer cleaning systems.
• PACP, MACP, or LACP certification is preferred and will strengthen your application.
• Strong mechanical aptitude combined with the ability to read and interpret pipeline plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with lasers, line, and grade equipment used in pipeline inspection and rehabilitation work.
