Disney is hiring a Video Editor at ESPN Creative Studio, based in Charlotte, NC. This role sits within the Edit department of ESPN’s Content division, where the primary output is broadcast-ready sports content delivered across domestic and international ESPN distribution platforms. It’s a position built for an experienced post-production editor who can operate at a high creative level inside a live sports newsroom environment.

About the Role

ESPN Creative Studio brings together editors, motion graphics artists, sound designers, and art directors to produce content that spans every ESPN platform. As a Video Editor here, your day-to-day involves assembling and finishing sports news content on tight deadlines, running quality control on audio and video deliverables, and supporting the broader post-production workflow alongside producers and creative partners. The schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays, which reflects the around-the-clock nature of sports broadcast production.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit sports news content using non-linear editing software including Adobe Premiere, Avid, and Grass Valley Edius to broadcast delivery standards.
• Perform quality control checks using video scopes and audio level monitoring to ensure compliance with the CALM Act and ESPN’s broadcast specifications.
• Manage file-based ingest, export, and publish workflows, maintaining consistent media organization and naming conventions across projects.
• Mentor junior editors on post-production workflows, software platforms, and editorial standards, and contribute written feedback to training initiatives.
• Identify technical issues during live or time-sensitive production conditions and escalate or resolve equipment failures with minimal supervision.
• Pitch self-initiated creative ideas and contribute to departmental projects that advance the capabilities of the Edit group.

What You Bring

• A minimum of four years of editing experience in a broadcast, sports, or news post-production environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Hands-on experience with Grass Valley Edius or Qube is a plus.
• Solid understanding of file-based media workflows covering ingest, transcode, and delivery formats.
• Comfort working in project management and communication tools such as Slack, Workfront, and Microsoft Office.
• Availability to work non-traditional hours including overnight shifts and holidays as required by a live sports broadcast schedule.
