Oak View Group is hiring a Camera Operator for CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey. This role sits within the live event production department, responsible for capturing game footage that feeds directly into the venue videoboard and live stream broadcast. It suits a videographer or broadcast camera operator with live sports production experience who is comfortable working within a production crew under real-time game conditions.

About the Role

CURE Insurance Arena is entering its inaugural professional hockey season as home to the Trenton IronHawks, and the production team is building out its in-game broadcast operation from the ground up. The Camera Operator works alongside the production crew to deliver continuous, broadcast-quality coverage across the full run of home games. A typical shoot day includes pre-game equipment checks, following a game script and production cues during live play, and breaking down camera gear once the event wraps.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate camera during live hockey games to capture game action, player movement, and crowd reactions for the videoboard and live stream production.
• Perform pre-broadcast camera checks covering white balance, iris, focus, gain, and wireless signal to confirm image quality before going live.
• Follow game scripts and production cues to anticipate required shots while responding instinctively to unscripted in-game moments.
• Execute smooth shot transitions to maintain consistent broadcast quality across plays, stoppages, and crowd coverage.
• Assist with full production setup and teardown, including equipment testing, troubleshooting, and proper storage between events.
• Communicate with the director and other camera operators throughout the broadcast to maintain coordinated, consistent live sports coverage.

What You Bring

• One to four years of experience in live sports production, videography, broadcasting, or livestreaming.
• Working knowledge of camera fundamentals including shutter speed, aperture, gain, focus, audio levels, and wireless camera systems.
• Prior experience in sports broadcasting or live event production is preferred over studio or scripted credits.
• Basic familiarity with ice hockey rules and game flow, with a willingness to develop hockey-specific camera instincts over the season.
• High school diploma required; coursework or training in broadcasting, film and video production, or sports media is a plus.
