This role sits within the Global Field Engineering department and is responsible for keeping live sports and news broadcasts on air around the clock, overseeing the field engineers and incident response workflows that make remote and live production possible. About the Role

The Supervisor, Global Field Engineering (News & Sports Live Production & Broadcast) reports to the Director of Global Field Engineering and oversees a team of 10 or more engineers supporting 24/7 live broadcast operations across news and sports productions globally. Day to day, this person manages shift transitions, incident escalation, field gear readiness, and staffing for live events, while also traveling frequently to productions to consult on execution and identify workflow efficiencies. The role requires a minimum of three days per week in-office at the East Point facility in Atlanta, GA, with domestic travel being a regular part of the schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of field engineers delivering 24/7 broadcast and IT support for live sports and news productions across domestic and international markets.
• Manage live production incident response and request fulfillment processes, serving as the primary escalation point for complex or critical on-air issues.
• Coordinate field deployment assignments with News and Sports Planning teams to align engineering resources with the live event production schedule.
• Drive adoption of MFP and REMI kit workflows across field operations, integrating new broadcast technology in line with WBD global strategies.
• Step into a hands-on engineering role during remote productions when needed, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of contribution and broadcast equipment.
• Conduct performance reviews, lead recruitment and onboarding, and develop team members to keep pace with evolving live broadcast technology and production demands.

What You Bring

• Five or more years of hands-on experience in live news and sports field technology deployments, including remote production environments.
• Demonstrated leadership of broadcast and IT support teams operating across multiple live productions simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of contribution systems, REMI and MFP broadcast workflows, and field broadcast equipment used in live sports production.
• Ability to physically handle equipment weighing 50 pounds or more in field environments.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional scheduling and staffing for 24/7 broadcast operations.
