Day to day, this person is running sanctions screening, evaluating source of wealth documentation, and advising fee earners on matter inception procedures. The role carries real ownership, with responsibility for both AML workflows and conflicts resolution at the same time.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing complex client onboarding workflows across multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring strict adherence to the firm’s regulatory standards and internal risk policies.
• Conducting thorough anti-money laundering checks, including customer due diligence assessments and evaluation of high-risk beneficial ownership structures.
• Performing detailed sanctions screening, adverse media reviews, and source of funds or source of wealth verification on flagged and high-risk client files.
• Executing conflict checks and assessing ethical or commercial issues before proposing clear, documented resolutions to internal partners and fee earners.
• Maintaining information barriers and confidential risk management protocols in line with legal and professional compliance obligations.
• Mentoring junior analysts, acting as a point of escalation for complex risk inquiries, and contributing to operational improvements across onboarding systems and internal risk registers.

What You Bring

• A minimum of five years of dedicated experience in risk and client onboarding within a legal, financial services, or entertainment industry compliance environment.
• Dual exposure across both conflicts and anti-money laundering, with a proven ability to manage both workflows simultaneously.
• Deep technical knowledge of sanctions screening tools, adverse media platforms, and customer due diligence frameworks applied to high-risk matters.
