Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Disney is hiring a Junior Publicist A/Photo Editor for its Studio Marketing and Publicity team in Burbank, CA. This role sits within the Photo Publicity department, supporting campaigns for theatrical and home entertainment releases by coordinating photo shoots, editing and archiving publicity stills, and distributing approved imagery to media outlets. It suits a working publicist or photo editor who has spent time in film, entertainment, or media and knows how a studio publicity campaign actually moves from production through release.

About the Role

The Junior Publicist A/Photo Editor supports the Photo Publicity team at Walt Disney Studios across the full campaign lifecycle, from on-set photography coordination to premiere coverage and press day logistics. Day to day, this person manages shoot logistics, processes and selects images using Adobe Creative Cloud, and keeps photo assets properly archived and credentialed in a DAM system. The role covers feature film and television projects, working directly with photographers, talent representatives, production teams, and international media partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior publicists on photo campaigns across feature film and television projects, from principal photography through theatrical and home entertainment release windows.
  • Coordinate cast and filmmaker photo shoots, managing call sheets, travel, location logistics, equipment, and catering.
  • Communicate directly with photographers, talent managers, production teams, and studio executives to move approvals and deliverables forward on deadline.
  • Organize and maintain photo archives, including metadata, credits, contact sheets, and image selects across a digital asset management system.
  • Distribute approved publicity photography to domestic and international media outlets and track usage, approvals, and placements.
  • Support red carpet events, premieres, press junkets, and film festivals as part of the studio publicity calendar.

What You Bring

  • Three or more years of professional experience in film, entertainment, media, or a related creative field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop and Lightroom, plus experience with Film Solutions or a comparable DAM platform.
  • Familiarity with studio publicity workflow, including photo selects, press materials, and media distribution processes.
  • This is an IATSE Local 600 Publicist Guild position covered by a collective bargaining agreement, so guild eligibility is required.
  • Availability to work onsite four days per week, Monday through Thursday, with remote Fridays and flexibility for evenings and weekend events.

Why This Role

Walt Disney Studios operates one of the largest theatrical and streaming release slates in the industry, which means the Junior Publicist A/Photo Editor here works across a volume and variety of projects that few other studios can match. The pay rate for this role in Burbank, CA is $48.58 per hour, with medical, financial, and other benefits available depending on position level. For a publicist looking to build credits in studio photo publicity with union protections in place, this is a substantive step.
