It’s a fit for a seasoned social strategist who has worked at the intersection of media brands and episodic television, and who knows how to turn long-form editorial and natural history content into platform-native campaigns that actually move an audience.
About the Role
The Senior Manager, Social Media Campaigns & Content (National Geographic) operates inside a cross-functional marketing structure that connects editorial, PR, paid media, and streaming acquisition teams. Day to day, this person is driving social strategy for National Geographic programming and magazine content simultaneously, running creative production on social video shoots, and aligning creator campaigns with the broader Disney+ content marketing calendar. This is not a scheduler role, it’s a creative lead position with real production responsibility and direct team oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end social campaign development for National Geographic TV programming and editorial content, from creative brief through final stakeholder sign-off.
- Direct on-set social video production, including talent interviews, subject-matter-expert shoots, and social-first creative across natural history, science, travel, and culture verticals.
- Build and manage creator-led content strategies that span owned channels and earned media, with a focus on emerging formats and audience acquisition.
- Partner with Editorial and Content teams during upstream story planning to ensure social strategy is embedded before production locks.
- Review Adobe Analytics and platform data to identify content patterns driving subscription growth and audience conversion across digital and streaming.
- Manage and develop a social media team, setting execution standards and building the workflow systems that keep high-volume content output consistent and on-brand.
What You Bring
- Seven or more years in social media strategy and marketing, with experience managing large-scale media brand portfolios.
- Demonstrated track record across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Reddit, with a working knowledge of how each platform ecosystem actually behaves.
- Experience launching creator franchises or social campaigns tied to original programming or episodic television.
- Proficiency with Adobe Analytics for performance reporting and content optimization.
- Proven ability to develop data-driven social strategies that connect to measurable business outcomes, including streaming acquisition and subscription conversion.
