Rodeo FX is hiring a Senior VFX Producer for a permanent position at their Montreal studio. This role sits at the center of VFX production, owning budgets, schedules, and client relationships across live-action and effects-heavy projects from bid through final delivery. It suits a producer with deep roots in VFX pipeline management who can hold a project together across departments without losing sight of the numbers.

About the Role

The Senior VFX Producer works directly alongside VFX Supervisors and department heads to translate creative scope into a viable production plan, then keep that plan on track through the full arc of each project. Day to day, this means tracking actuals against budget in ShotGrid, fielding client change requests, flagging schedule risk early, and making sure the right talent is allocated to the right work at the right time. This is a senior seat, which means you are also mentoring junior producers and contributing to bids on incoming projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with VFX Supervisors and the business development team to prepare cost estimates and bids for potential projects, setting realistic expectations before a single shot is assigned.
• Build and maintain project schedules including milestones, overtime approvals, and resource plans, keeping ShotGrid current as a source of truth throughout production.
• Serve as the primary client contact for project status, communicating changes in scope, budget impact, and revised timelines with clarity and consistency.
• Monitor budget performance across all active projects, preparing financial reports and anticipating cost risk before it becomes a problem for the studio or the client.
• Assign key talent to projects in collaboration with department heads, balancing experience level and skill set against the specific demands of each production.
• Lead mid-project and post-mortem reviews, documenting lessons learned and translating them into process improvements across the VFX production workflow.

What You Bring

• Several years of experience producing VFX at a senior level, with credits on feature film production, episodic television, or high-end commercial projects.
• Fluency with ShotGrid as a production tracking and scheduling tool across multi-department VFX pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets and client relationships simultaneously without either slipping.
• Experience mentoring producers and contributing to team performance reviews, including compensation recommendations.
• Strong working knowledge of bid preparation and the ability to scope a project accurately from breakdown through delivery.
