Executive Producer

FOX Entertainment is hiring an Executive Producer for FOX Chicago, the company’s broadcast news operation in Chicago, Illinois. This role sits at the top of the editorial chain, responsible for daily newscast production across linear and digital platforms, including FOX LOCAL streaming and LiveNOW from FOX. It suits an experienced broadcast news leader who has run a major market newsroom and knows how to move a team through breaking news without losing editorial standards.

About the Role

The Executive Producer oversees the full editorial output of a newsroom that generates local news content for broadcast, connected TV, and mobile platforms. Day to day, this means owning the rundown, making story calls under deadline pressure, and keeping producers, reporters, and assignment desk staff moving in the same direction. FOX Television Stations produces roughly 1,300 hours of local news per week across its 29 stations, and this Chicago role is a key part of that operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the daily editorial plan for newscasts and multi-platform news distribution, from morning lineups through breaking news coverage.
• Supervise producers, reporters, anchors, and assignment desk staff, managing performance and output across all shifts.
• Control rundowns and story selection, making real-time decisions on content priority during live broadcast news production.
• Drive continuous coverage across broadcast and streaming platforms, coordinating with digital and social teams to extend reach.
• Monitor ratings data and audience analytics to shape content strategy and keep coverage aligned with the Chicago market.
• Ensure all content meets FCC regulations, company standards, and the journalistic accuracy expected at a major market station.

What You Bring

• 7 to 10 or more years of newsroom experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role at a broadcast news station.
• Hands-on experience with newsroom production systems such as ENPS or iNews.
• Proven editorial judgment in episodic television news, including managing teams through breaking news situations.
• Experience in a top 10 or top 15 market newsroom is strongly preferred, with knowledge of the Chicago news landscape a clear advantage.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is a plus.
