Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Zealot Inc. is hiring a Post Production Assistant for their Hollywood office in Los Angeles, California. This is an entry-level post role focused on media ingest and egress, keeping files organized and correctly named across Zealot’s internal and external systems so that editors, producers, and finishing teams can actually do their jobs. If you’re someone who knows their way around file codecs, naming conventions, and media platforms and wants to build a career in post-production workflow, this role is a real foot in the door.

About the Role

The Post Production Assistant sits within Zealot’s post-production department and reports directly to the Asset Manager, working across projects to support Associate Producers, Editors, and the Finishing team with media management tasks. Day-to-day work involves ingesting client media, building transcriptions, and maintaining documentation for client systems and logins so nothing falls through the cracks at handoff. The role is hybrid, with three days per week in the Hollywood office, Monday through Friday, 10am to 7pm, though hours may shift based on production needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle ingest, link creation, and posting requests coming in from APs, Producers, Creative Directors, and the Finishing team, making sure files hit the right destinations without errors.
  • Manage and prioritize client media download requests, ingesting assets into Zealot’s environment and confirming files are correctly named and structured per client and platform SOPs.
  • Create and maintain documentation for client systems, processes, and login credentials to support fast, reliable media retrieval and posting across the post-production workflow.
  • Produce transcription files for features and episodes, giving Editors and Producers clean reference material to pull from during the cut.
  • Work with the Asset Manager to log all incoming physical media, including external drives, flash drives, discs, and tapes, keeping the chain of custody clean.
  • Support Assistant Editors and the Finishing team with coordination tasks including YouTube rips and shotlist requests as needed.

What You Bring

  • Solid working knowledge of MacOS and standard computer skills including email, messaging, and web-based tools.
  • Familiarity with common media file types including .mov, .mp4, .png, and .jpg, and video codecs including h.264, h.265, ProRes, and DNxHD.
  • Experience with media delivery platforms such as Aspera, Signiant, Pix, or Box is a plus.
  • Familiarity with NLE software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, or DaVinci Resolve is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational habits and the ability to troubleshoot file and delivery issues without waiting to be told how.

Why This Role

Zealot Inc. is a production company with a real post-production operation, and this position puts you directly inside that workflow rather than on the periphery of it. The Asset Manager structure means you get direct oversight and mentorship from someone managing the full media pipeline. The estimated hiring range is $20 to $25 per hour, with individual pay determined by skill set, experience, and background.
