Job Position(s): Videographer & Editor
Project Type: Documentary
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $62,000/year

The YMCA of Greater Louisville is hiring a Videographer & Editor to join their in-house marketing and communications team in Louisville, KY. This role sits at the center of a full content production workflow, responsible for everything from concept and pre-production through camera operation, lighting, audio capture, and final edit delivery across long-form and short-form formats. It suits a working shooter-editor who is comfortable owning projects end-to-end and has a feel for documentary-style visual storytelling.

About the Role

The Videographer & Editor operates within the YMCA’s internal marketing department, producing content that serves campaigns, fundraising initiatives, social media channels, and organizational events across multiple branch locations. On any given day, that means conducting interviews on location, capturing b-roll at a program or community event, then returning to the edit suite to cut both a long-form impact piece and a short-form social clip from the same shoot. Asset management, equipment maintenance, and brand consistency are built into the daily workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, shoot, and edit long-form video content including interviews, b-roll sequences, and narrative-driven pieces that communicate organizational mission and community impact.
  • Produce short-form content optimized for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube, applying platform-specific formatting and current editorial trends.
  • Handle all on-set production responsibilities including camera setup, lighting design, and location audio capture across YMCA facilities and off-site locations.
  • Photograph events, programs, facilities, and staff, including professional headshots for leadership and volunteers, and maintain an organized digital photography library.
  • Manage the full post-production workflow from footage ingest and backup through project file organization, versioning, and final export delivery.
  • Maintain the organization’s digital asset management system, ensuring all footage, stills, and project files are properly named, categorized, and accessible to the broader marketing team.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience as a shooter-editor with a portfolio that demonstrates documentary or branded content production from field to finish.
  • Proficiency in professional video editing software, with strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Hands-on experience with professional camera systems, lighting kits, and location audio equipment.
  • Working knowledge of social media video production workflows and current platform best practices.
  • Strong file management discipline and experience working within a digital asset management system.

Why This Role

The YMCA operates across multiple Louisville locations, which means this Videographer & Editor role offers genuine variety in subject matter and production context rather than repetitive assignment work. The position carries real creative ownership across the full content production pipeline, from development through delivery, with direct collaboration across departments. For a mid-level producer-editor looking to build a meaningful body of work in branded and nonprofit content production, this is a substantive staff role.

Apply now for the Videographer & Editor position with the YMCA and bring your production skills to work that reaches communities across Louisville.
