Job Type
NBC Sports is hiring a Freelance Production Coordinator to join their operations team in Stamford, Connecticut. This role sits within the Golf Operations division and is responsible for coordinating all logistical and production support needs across remote broadcast events and studio productions. It suits a coordinator with at least two years in network television or sports broadcasting who knows how production workflow actually runs from the operations side.
About the Role
This is a project-based position with an estimated duration of 6 to 12 months, reporting directly to the VP of Golf Operations at NBCUniversal. Day-to-day work spans both remote event coverage and studio operations, meaning you are moving between managing travel logistics for talent and crew one day and reconciling event budgets with an onsite Production Manager the next. It is the kind of coordinator role where your output directly affects whether a live sports broadcast runs smoothly from a logistical standpoint.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all travel logistics for talent, production staff, and crew across remote sporting events, including air, hotel, and ground transportation.
- Support Production and Operations personnel through every phase of the broadcast production cycle, both on location and in studio.
- Assist in reconciling remote event budgets in close partnership with the onsite Production Manager.
- Oversee timecard submission and provide occasional supervision of daily hire personnel during production.
- Coordinate with internal departments including HR, IT, Building Admin, and event catering to manage studio and remote logistics as needed.
- Navigate internal scheduling databases and crewing documents to support broadcast operations across assigned sporting events.
What You Bring
- A minimum of two years of experience in television or film production, preferably at a network or major production facility.
- A bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field, or equivalent hands-on production experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage purchase cards and production budgets responsibly across live event television.
- Familiarity with sports broadcasting operations and the logistical demands of remote broadcast production.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks under the pressure of live sports production deadlines.
Why This Role
NBCUniversal’s sports production operation is among the largest in network television, and a coordinator credit on NBC Sports golf coverage carries real weight in the live sports broadcasting world. This position pays between USD 20 and USD 26 per hour, with a contract length of 6 to 12 months depending on project deliverables. For a coordinator looking to build their resume in network-level live event production, this is a direct path into one of the most established sports broadcast operations in the industry.
Apply now for the Freelance Production Coordinator role at NBC Sports and bring your production operations experience to one of television’s leading live sports teams.
