Senior Animator & Video Editor (Temp)

The Monks is hiring a Senior Animator and Video Editor on a temporary basis in Chihuahua, Chih, MX. This role sits inside the post-production workflow, responsible for delivering finished video assets and motion graphics across editorial, digital, and social media channels. It suits an audiovisual designer or motion graphics artist who is equally comfortable in a traditional animation pipeline and in AI-assisted production environments.

About the Role

You will be embedded in a creative team that produces high-volume digital content for agency and brand clients, working across the full production lifecycle from concept through final delivery. A typical day involves building 2D animations, cutting and color grading video, and integrating generative AI tools to accelerate asset creation and style exploration. The work spans multiple formats and platforms, so fluency in resizing and adapting content for different distribution channels is part of the daily reality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 2D animation and video projects from initial storyboard and design through compositing, editing, and audio post-production.
• Create motion graphics, kinetic typography, and cel animation for editorial and social media platforms, including reusable motion templates.
• Integrate generative AI platforms into the animation pipeline for visual generation, asset creation, and video processing using tools such as Runway, Midjourney, and Adobe Firefly.
• Handle rotoscoping, tracking, compositing, and color grading inside established post-production workflows using Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
• Resize and optimize finished video assets across multiple formats to meet platform-specific delivery specs for social, digital, and editorial use.
• Partner with Art Directors and Creative Strategy teams to translate communication briefs into finished audiovisual work on deadline.

What You Bring

• 3 or more years of experience as an Audiovisual Designer, Motion Graphics Artist, or Video Editor in an agency, editorial, or entertainment environment.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe After Effects, including Trapcode Suite and Lottie, as well as Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI tools including Stable Diffusion, Comfy UI, ElevenLabs, and Google AI platforms such as Veo3.
• Working knowledge of Cinema 4D or Blender, including modeling, texturing, lighting, and shading within a 3D pipeline.
• A bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Design, Animation, Digital Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.
