Videographer
- Full Time
- Mobile, AL, United states
ASRC Federal Holding Company
ASRC Federal Holding Company is hiring a Videographer to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Readiness Support Center in Mobile, AL. This role sits at the intersection of field production and post-production workflow, covering everything from camera operation and audio capture through editing, motion graphics, and final delivery of scenario-based emergency management content. It suits a working videographer with field experience and a solid post-production background who is comfortable operating independently on location and delivering finished products to a government client.
About the Role
The Videographer supports the RSC, which prepares federal emergency management teams for disaster response operations across FEMA Stafford Act missions, flood control, dam safety, and coastal emergencies. Day to day, this means developing storyboards and shoot concepts, going into the field to capture footage at project sites, and returning to the edit suite to cut finished video products that incorporate motion graphics where live footage falls short. Products are delivered in both editable and public-release formats, optimized for the platform they are intended for, whether long-form documentary-style content or short-form digital distribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop scenario-based exercise vignettes depicting hazards such as dam and levee emergencies, presenting concepts to government reviewers as storyboards, written proposals, or presentations.
- Operate professional cameras, lighting, and audio recording equipment in field conditions, including outdoor settings with uneven terrain and the physical demands of carrying production equipment.
- Edit footage into finished video products using non-linear editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer, incorporating up to five rounds of government review comments per product.
- Produce motion graphic and animated elements to support scenarios where live footage alone does not tell the full story.
- Ensure all video deliverables meet Section 508 accessibility standards, including captioning workflows, and deliver both an editable version and a non-alterable public release version.
- Maintain an organized digital media library and contribute to monthly progress reports documenting tasks required, performed, and completed.
What You Bring
- Five years of professional videography and video editing experience, with a portfolio demonstrating field production and finished editorial work.
- Proficiency with professional camera systems, location lighting, and audio capture in real-world field conditions.
- Hands-on experience with non-linear editing software, specifically Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer.
- Ability to produce motion graphics integrated with live footage, and to optimize content for both long-form and short-form digital distribution platforms.
- Strong written English skills sufficient to draft scripts and storyboards for government review.
- Ability to pass E-Verify, obtain a Common Access Card, and clear a Tier 1 background investigation, plus a valid driver’s license for field travel.
Why This Role
ASRC Federal is an Alaska Native owned corporation with a long track record supporting federal agencies across defense, public health, and infrastructure, and this position puts a videographer at the center of content that directly supports national emergency preparedness. The work is substantive, covering a broad production scope from field capture to post-production workflow to accessibility compliance, which makes it a strong credit for anyone building a government and public affairs media portfolio. Prior DoD experience or a broadcast news background will be a real advantage here.
