  • Write clear, broadcast-ready copy that meets the editorial standards of a major-market local news station.
  • Pitch and develop story ideas daily, contributing to the editorial direction of the newsroom.
  • Build sportscasts that incorporate news, highlights, and features in a structured, audience-focused format.
  • Execute last-minute editorial and production changes during live broadcasts without compromising show quality.
  • Coordinate across digital and on-air teams throughout the production day to ensure platform consistency.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of three years producing at a local television news station is required.
  • Demonstrated editorial judgment and production skills suited to a high-pressure broadcast news environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a command of broadcast copy style.
  • Flexibility to work late nights, overnights, holidays, and variable dayparts as assigned.
  • This position is covered under the WGA-ABC National Agreement, so familiarity with WGA jurisdiction in broadcast news is relevant.
