Job Position(s): DRIVER / Production Assistant
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

An indie production based in Philadelphia is hiring a Driver / Production Assistant to support an active film or television shoot in the greater Philadelphia area. This role sits within the production department and is responsible for transporting talent, crew, and equipment while also stepping in as a hands-on PA whenever the production needs an extra set of hands on set. It suits someone who is comfortable behind the wheel of a passenger van or cargo vehicle and already understands the rhythm of a film production day.

About the Role

The Driver / Production Assistant reports directly to the production office and works across whatever the daily call sheet demands, whether that means an early morning airport run for talent or running sides to set between setups. On an indie production like this one, the lines between driving and general PA work blur constantly, so expect to do both within the same shift. The person who thrives here is someone who treats the role as a foot in the door on a real film production and shows up ready to do the work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport cast, crew, and production equipment safely and on schedule according to the daily production itinerary.
  • Assist the production office and on-set PA team with errands, supply runs, and last-minute pickups throughout the shoot day.
  • Maintain communication with the AD department and transportation coordinator to stay ahead of scheduling changes.
  • Help with basecamp setup, trailer positioning, and general lot logistics as directed by the production team.
  • Support the walkie grid by staying available and responsive to production calls while on set or in transit.
  • Keep assigned vehicles clean, fueled, and ready for the next call time without being reminded.

What You Bring

  • A valid driver’s license with a clean record and comfort operating passenger vans, SUVs, or cargo vehicles.
  • Prior experience on a film or television production set, even in a base PA or office PA capacity.
  • Familiarity with the Philadelphia metro area and surrounding locations used for independent film production.
  • Ability to work long, irregular hours consistent with a standard film production schedule.
  • Strong time management and a no-drama attitude when priorities shift mid-day.

Why This Role

This is a working indie production with boots on the ground in Philadelphia, which means real on-set hours and direct exposure to how a production department operates from the inside. For someone looking to build credits in feature film production or episodic television, a Driver / Production Assistant role is one of the more reliable ways to get consistent set time while staying useful across departments.
