About the Role

You’ll be working inside the NC State Athletics broadcast operation, contributing to live sports production across multiple varsity programs on an event-by-event basis. A typical shift runs from setup through tear-down, with live camera operation as the core function during the event itself. The schedule is driven by the athletic calendar, so availability across evenings and weekends during active seasons is part of the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate handheld or mounted cameras during live sports broadcasts and in-house productions for NC State Athletics events.
• Execute camera moves, framing, and shot selection in real time within a live broadcast television workflow.
• Support production crew during pre-event setup, including cable runs, camera positioning, and equipment checks.
• Strike and secure all production equipment following each broadcast, returning gear to proper storage.
• Fill secondary production roles including Graphics, Replay, or Technical Director functions based on demonstrated experience.
• Take direction from the Supervisor and Athletic Administration staff to meet broadcast standards for each event.

What You Bring

• A high school diploma is the minimum educational requirement for this position.
• Prior experience with live camera work in sports television production is preferred but not required to apply.
• Familiarity with broadcast production roles such as replay operation, graphics systems, or technical directing is a plus.
• Comfort working variable, event-based schedules tied to a collegiate athletic calendar.
• Current NC State University student status is preferred by the department.
