Job Date: Full Time

AIP Connect is hiring a Production Assistant / Film & TV Intern to join a leading non-scripted production company based in Toronto, ON. This role sits across development and production, supporting projects from initial concept through to delivery on documentary, live television, and stage-to-screen productions. It suits an early-career professional who wants real exposure to how non-scripted content gets made, not just coffee runs and calendar invites.

About the Role

You will be embedded with a production team that has directed over 70 filmed projects, including award-winning documentary features and productions recognized at TIFF and other international festivals. Day-to-day work spans research, pitch support, logistics coordination, and operational troubleshooting across multiple projects in various stages of non-scripted television and film development. This is a 4-month paid contract with a clear path to a permanent full-time position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and production teams across documentary, live TV, and stage-to-screen productions as projects move from concept through production.
  • Conduct research for new scripted and unscripted projects, compiling materials that inform pitches and development decisions.
  • Coordinate production logistics including scheduling, workflow organization, and daily operational support across concurrent projects.
  • Assist senior producers and filmmakers with project documentation, keeping materials organized through shifting production timelines.
  • Handle pitch support tasks including formatting, research consolidation, and preparation of development materials for internal and external presentations.
  • Manage the unglamorous but necessary production work that keeps a busy non-scripted content pipeline running on schedule.

What You Bring

  • 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in film, television, or media production, or equivalent project experience in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with non-scripted content production workflows, including documentary or unscripted television formats.
  • Comfort learning new digital workflow and project management tools as production needs evolve.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills suited to working with high-profile talent and confidential development materials.
  • Ability to work in-person in Toronto during core hours of 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility during active production cycles.

Why This Role

This company has one of the more substantial non-scripted production slates in Canada, with credits spanning feature film production, live television, and festival-recognized documentary work. The Production Assistant / Film & TV Intern role pays $20.00 to $25.00 per hour based on experience, with genuine potential to convert to full-time. AIP Connect places candidates with production companies where career progression is a real outcome, not a recruitment talking point.
