Cinematographer

Brasfield & Gorrie is hiring a Cinematographer based in Birmingham, AL, to join their in-house marketing and communications team. This role sits at the center of a full corporate video production workflow, owning camera, lighting, and sound across a range of content from executive interviews and mini-documentaries to motion graphics and training videos. It suits a working cinematographer who is comfortable moving between controlled interview setups and active construction jobsite conditions without missing a beat.

About the Role

You will be the primary image-maker inside a general contracting company that produces a significant volume of branded video content for internal and external audiences. Your day might take you from lighting a C-suite talking head in the morning to pulling b-roll on an active jobsite in the afternoon, then returning to the edit bay to handle color grading and motion graphics work. The full production workflow lives with you, from location scouting and shot listing through ingest, post-production, and media management.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate pro-level digital cameras across multi-camera interview setups, gimbal, drone, slider, and time-lapse configurations to deliver technically consistent footage ready for color grading.
• Design and execute lighting plans for a variety of corporate video production formats including talking head interviews, explainer videos, and on-location documentary-style shoots.
• Record and monitor production audio using lavalier, shotgun, and wireless microphone systems, managing a mixer and recorder to ensure clean tracks through to post.
• Build and maintain a color pipeline in DaVinci Resolve so all footage arrives at the grade stage with a consistent, professional look across projects.
• Develop original motion graphics and animation work in Adobe After Effects to support video messaging and digital signage deliverables.
• Scout locations, coordinate equipment rentals, enforce PPE and jobsite safety requirements on every shoot, and maintain a catalogued media library accessible across the organization.

What You Bring

• Five or more years of camera experience in a production-related role, with a portfolio or reel that demonstrates original motion graphics and cinematography work.
• Advanced proficiency with professional lighting, grip equipment, and production audio in real-world shoot conditions.
• Working proficiency in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe After Effects, with broader knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
• FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate, or a clear willingness to obtain one.
• A bachelor’s degree in videography, media, communications, or a related field.
