Ektello is hiring a Digital Asset Specialist and Assistant Video Editor for a remote W2 contract role based out of San Francisco, CA. This position sits inside a post-production workflow supporting a brand creative team, with output spanning sizzle reels, social content, promotional videos, and b-roll compilations. It suits a post-production professional who is equally comfortable in the edit suite and in a digital asset management library.

About the Role

You will work directly within the content and creative department, supporting a Lead Editor and coordinating with external vendors across multiple deliverables. Day to day means cutting rough assemblies, ingesting and organizing footage into an AI-powered archive tool called Shade, and preparing projects so senior editors can move efficiently through their post-production workflow. The contract is a minimum of four months, fully remote within the US.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut rough edits of sizzle reels, documentary segments, promo content, and b-roll compilations using brand-approved assets inside Adobe Premiere.
• Source footage and set up project files for in-house and external senior editors, ensuring sequences, bins, and media are organized before handoff.
• Export deliverables formatted for multi-platform distribution, including resizing and spec adjustments across social and digital channels.
• Handle finishing tasks including subtitle integration, conform work, and prep for color grading pipelines.
• Ingest, quality-check, tag, and archive digital assets inside the Shade DAM platform, maintaining accurate metadata, naming conventions, and permission structures.
• Field asset search and distribution requests from creative, marketing, and agency partners, and support library audits and DAM workflow documentation.

What You Bring

• Two or more years of production-oriented experience, preferably inside an agency or marketing communications environment.
• Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Premiere CC and working knowledge of After Effects CC.
• Demonstrated ability to cut video with a basic understanding of storytelling structure and pacing.
• Experience with digital asset management or content management systems, with cloud-based and NAS file management a clear plus.
• Strong organizational approach to metadata, asset naming, and library accuracy across large content libraries.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, along with working knowledge of Google Workspace and Figma.
